Welcome to The Disciples\u2019 Path<\/em><\/strong>.<\/mark><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

19<\/sup> But during the night an angel of the Lord opened the prison doors and brought them [the apostles] out, and said, 20<\/sup> “Go and stand in the temple and speak to the people all the words of this Life.”<\/em> – Acts 5:19-20<\/strong> 1<\/a><\/sup><\/p>\n\n\n\n

All of us have a gap.  Some Christians are aware of it.  Many are not. Nevertheless, it\u2019s there.  It\u2019s the gap between the life Jesus died to give us and the life we\u2019re living.  For those who don\u2019t know, you\u2019ll discover in the set of courses on The Disciple\u2019s Path<\/em><\/strong> that the life Jesus died to give us here and now is beyond amazing.  It\u2019s not meant to be one of endless heartaches and tribulations, though we\u2019ll never completely escape those challenges in this lifetime.  After all, Scripture tells us:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI [Jesus] have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”<\/em> – John 16:33<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

But as you\u2019ll soon see, Jesus died to give us an amazing, victorious, overcoming, unexplainable, miraculous Kingdom life TODAY.  Not when we die and go to Heaven, but RIGHT HERE<\/strong> and RIGHT NOW<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Intended Audience<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

This site contains course content for discipleship training.  It\u2019s intended for born-again believers in the Lord Jesus Christ.  It\u2019s for those who have responded to the Gospel of Salvation.  If that\u2019s you, keep reading.  If you don\u2019t even know what I\u2019m talking about, consider the words of the Apostles John and Paul:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.\u201d<\/em> – <\/em>John 3:16<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

9<\/sup> because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10<\/sup> For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.<\/em> – Romans 10:9-10<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you\u2019ve never responded to a Gospel invitation, or if perhaps you\u2019ve never heard one, let me urge you to visit this site (http:\/\/www.gospelcentral.us<\/a>) and watch a video or two.  It may be the most consequential time you invest in your entire life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Intended Purpose<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

These courses are intended to help every Christian close the gap.  Fundamentally, the gap we all experience cannot be closed by information.  It requires transformation<\/strong>.  It’s not about head knowledge. It’s about heart change. If you only approach this content to gather more information, you\u2019ll do yourself a tremendous disservice.  True, you\u2019ll increase your reservoir of Scripture knowledge.  You\u2019ll pick up a few pithy sayings to impress your Christian friends. You\u2019ll improve your ability to talk about the Christian life.  But unless you experience transformation, it will just be talk.  Your gap will remain the same.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.<\/em> – Proverbs 16:18<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

So before reading any further, invite the Holy Spirit to lead you and protect you from the temptation to believe \u201cI don\u2019t need this.  I know all this already.\u201d  That person is deceived.  In any area of life where you think you know everything you need to know, you\u2019ve established your own limits, set your own ceiling, and set yourself up for failure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Courses<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Disciple\u2019s Path<\/em><\/strong> is comprised of five core courses or pillars.  We use that terminology because we believe these five courses are critical and necessary for every believer to grow into a mature Kingdom disciple who maximizes their impact on this planet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Taken consecutively at the recommended pace, The Disciple’s Path<\/em><\/strong> series will take about a year and a half to complete.   Though that sounds like a long time, the journey will be thrilling, captivating and challenging all at the same time. Imagine the life of one of Jesus’ Apostles. Every week brought new experiences and new insights that disrupted their lives in ways they could not have expected. And Jesus, the greatest disciple maker of all time, invested a bit more than three years in preparing his disciples to carry out His mission mandate.   Though we live in a microwave “I want it now” world, discipleship is a crockpot experience that can’t be short-circuited. So, be patient but start your journey today!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Kingdom<\/em><\/strong> Essentials<\/em><\/strong> series lays a thorough foundation for understanding the Gospel, your identity in Christ, the spiritual gifts He has provided through the indwelling Holy Spirit, and the opposition you\u2019ll face if you take His mandate seriously.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Essentials<\/em><\/strong> is a six (6) part, thirty-six (36) session course covering foundational biblical topics critical for growing to spiritual maturity and Kingdom effectiveness.  Topics include the history and veracity of the Bible, the basics of the Gospel, the why and how of prayer, learning how to hear God for yourself, the power of agreements, the tactics of the enemy and various forms of bondage, and more.   This course can be taken alone or in an interactive small group setting where discussions with other participants is beneficial to the learning process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
